GLOSTER METEOR T7 (HYBRID)


The Gloster Meteor was developed as Britain’s first jet powered fighter and first took to the skies on 5 March 1943. One RAF squadron was fully equipped with the type by the end of the following August. The aircraft was developed over a number of years, the later night-fighter versions (MK11 to MK14) were developed by the Armstrong Whitworth Company. The type was in service until the late 1950’s with the RAF.
