To mark the second annual Scottish Museums Day we are adding two further selections from our archives. In addition to the selections already posted here on the Museum’s web site, these demonstrate the breadth of material we have acquired over the years.
A small selection of colourful illustrated covers from a British pre-war popular aviation magazine, Air Stories, shows how imaginatively aviation could be communicated in the pre-television age.
We also hold an increasingly varied archive of original photographs. More of these will be posted in the future but we begin here with a small selection of six types of Fleet Air Arm aircraft photographed as they came into land at Lossiemouth in the 1960s.
