The current Covid outbreak has caused us to suspend our programme of events until further notice. However, we look forward to being able to run our four main events again – please watch this page and social media for announcements of when that might happen.
For this event we welcome a number of mobile aircraft cockpits, some owned by fellow museums and some by private individuals. This allows visitors to see, and even sit inside a number of aircraft not normally available at the museum. For this weekend, we try to have a few of our own aircraft cockpits available for inspection as well.
Military Vehicle Day
The museum grounds are filled with military vehicles of all shapes and sizes for this event, with trucks, Jeeps and even a tank having visited in the past. A number of re-enactors are also present, displaying weapons and uniforms of many eras and nationalities. A regular feature is the firing of a visiting field gun – not to be missed!
Wings and Wheels Day
A proper slice of nostalgia with the museum grounds filled with classic cars, trucks, busses and motorcycles from all eras. In the past we have had a veteran Arrol Johnson car, lots of fifties and sixties classics, modern trucks and even the General Lee at the show.
Airborne Forces Day
This is a new event for us, first run in 2019. We welcome Airborne veterans to the museum and have displays of equipment and uniforms from the past and the present day. This is a very social event, and a great opportunity to meet members of the airborne brotherhood.
