Donate to our collection
We have a wonderful collection of artefacts at the museum covering aircraft, engines, weaponry, uniform, personal histories, memorabilia, photographs, books, maps, artwork… the list is endless, but every item helps us understand the past and tell a story.
This collection has been building steadily since the museum started. The large items have come from air forces, private collectors, or have even been recovered from the bottom of a loch, in the case of our Spitfire, but the majority of items have come to us through the generosity of members of the public.
Log books, uniforms, medals, and personal memorabilia are all handed in to us on a regular basis for us to care for and add to our collection. Many items on their own may not seem that important, but they all add to our depth of knowledge. These items can be lost over time as people inevitably clear out their cupboards, lofts and sheds but it is so important that we get the chance to save these items for future generations to appreciate.
Please remember that we are not solely a World War Two or RAF museum. We are interested in anything to do with aircraft and aviation, and especially the people involved. Whether your artefacts relate to the RAF or an airline, aircrew or ground crew, peacetime or wartime, please contact us about it. Also, if you have a story to tell of your service or experiences, please consider allowing us to interview you for our Oral History archives as well – donations are not always physical.
